Turks Have Been Driven Southward by the Russian Troops
Tabriz, Persia, April 17 – Engagements between the Armenians and Turks are frequent in Turkish Armenia and a general massacre of the Christians is feared.
After several stubborn engagements between the Russians and the Turks north of Dilman in Persia, the Turks retreated southward.
From the district of the Choruk river it is reported that after an unsuccessful defense of Khopa, the Turks retreated beyond Archava, where they occupied the fortified heights from which they are making sorties.
It is said that even the Turks are disgusted with the inhumanity of the Kurds in their army and there are frequent clashes between the Turks and Kurds on account of this.
The Turks lynched several Kurds who were guilty of unusual atrocities against Christians.
