Show “Ravished Armenia.”

The world premiere of “Ravished Armenia,” the first film depicting the #ArmenianGenocide, was held in New York City.  Though there were concerns that some scenes were “more harrowing than ever before shown in a moving picture,” Organizers, who had watched a preview just days before, refused the to censor the film, arguing that “they were necessary to awaken people to a full realization of the conditions existing in Armenia.” #TheNewYorkTimes, 02/17/1919 #GenocideDiary
