U.S. Admiral Who Told Turkey Massacres of Armenians Must Cease Rear-Admiral Mark L. Bristol

Turkey received an informal warning recently from Rear-Admiral Mark L. Bristol, commander of the United States naval forces in Turkey, that massacres of Armenians must cease. According to Paris dispatches this caused quite a flurry in the Supreme Council of the Peace Conference. American interference in Turkey thru missions and otherwise, although the United States has shown no disposition to accept the mandate for the administration of any Turkish territory, was sharply criticized.
